Learning Support
At Grimsdell we pride ourselves on the importance of providing an educational experience that enables every child to make progress. At different stages in development, a child may require further support to help them feel happy, confident and to progress.
Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) supports children according to their own particular needs, liaising closely with their teachers to identify what is needed and the best way of addressing this collectively.
All teachers offer quality teaching as a first step in supporting children to learn. Sometimes further support may be required which may take the form of one-to-one help or working in a small group, which is provided in our dedicated Learning Support room, or within the classroom environment.
We have a visiting speech therapist and Physiotherapist should they be required.
We strive to work in partnership with parents, so they are able to fully support their child’s learning. This is a vital and key component of a successful school experience.
