The Toffee Bear Choir's performance at St Marylebone Parish Church
The Toffee Bear Choir were honoured to perform for the fourth consecutive year at The Sick Children’s annual ‘Together at Christmas’ concert, held at the beautiful St Marylebone Parish Church.
The choir, conducted by Mrs Sarah Wakefield, Head of Music & Performing Arts, and expertly accompanied by Pippa Cleary (award winning West End & Broadway composer) brought tears to the eyes with ‘When we’re together’ and humoured the audience with a cheeky rendition of ‘All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth’ - with fantastic solos by Lyra and Scarlett. The concert ended with a heart warming rendition of ‘White Christmas’ sung in collaboration with the brilliant London Show Choir. There was even a special surprise performance from the charity’s president, Michael Crawford
Belmont, Mill Hill Prep, pupil Hannah P (4BB) confidently stood alone in the pulpit to read an excerpt from the Bible. Hannah’s clarity and composure was so impressive and we loved having her back with us. She even designed a new logo for the choir during the break!
It was a wonderful experience for the children to sing at such a prestigious event, they were in amazing company with Christian Johnston, The Funny Bones and the Chimes for Children, and they enjoyed every minute of it.
