- Meet Ms Jaime Baddick, Head of Enrichment and Maths

Meet Ms Jaime Baddick, our fantastic Head of Enrichment and Maths at Grimsdell!
Whether she’s inspiring a love for numbers or leading exciting enrichment opportunities, her enthusiasm and dedication shine through in all she does. We had a great time chatting with her about what she enjoys most about being part of our school community.
How long have you worked at the school?
15 years! And I still love Grimsdell and my job as much as I did when I first started.
What does your role involve?
I am one of the lucky teachers, I have the privilege of teaching all the children from Nursery through to Year 2. I am responsible for Enrichment and Math's at Grimsdell and am proud of the breadth of opportunities and challenge our creative curriculum offers our children.
What is your favourite thing at the school?
Tricky question, do I have to choose just one thing? The children would have to be my favourite thing! Everything I do and everything I plan for is to enrich them.
Do you have any advice for our pupils which could help them to get the most out of their time at the school?
The Disney film Ratatouille said ‘Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great.’ Enjoy every moment and relish every opportunity!
What is your favourite book and film for our pupils and why?
My favourite book is To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Lee because it is a powerful story of standing up for what you believe in and for what is right even if it makes stand apart from others.
My favourite film is Moana largely due to the beautiful animation and feeling of being surrounded by nature. Bringing a flailing land back to it’s former glory is a powerful message for our world today.
Could you share an inspirational quote with us? How does it inspire you?
‘I never lose. Either I win or learn.’ Keep going! Not everything works out the first time but there’s always a reason why and a lesson to learn, make an adjustment and try again.
Can you tell us something that we might not know about you?
I had a poem published in an anthology when I was a teenager.
