Book Week 2025
We have enjoyed a wonderful book filled week and its success is all thanks to the incredible support of our Grimsdell families. From enjoying stories by our talented homegrown authors (former pupils Joshua Flash-Parsons and Bertie Swart-Mallett, along with our very own Mrs. Simon), to supporting our Book Fair, participating as Mystery Readers (both in person and online), and helping your child create their Dress Up Day costume – your involvement has made all the difference! A huge THANK YOU for making Book Week 2025 such a memorable experience for the children.
Please find some photos capturing the highlights of the week’s events in the gallery at the bottom of the page.
Discover a New Favourite: Explore the World of a New Author
This week, the librarians are sharing one of their favourite authors, hoping you'll discover new books to borrow from the library…

Adeline and Isaiah are big Julia Donaldson fans – we have an extensive collection of her stories in the library – old favourites and some new titles yet to be discovered…

Roald Dahl is the author of choice for Eeshen and Affan. His stories continue to captivate children, and we have a collection of his memorable books perfect for readers of all ages
Humorous books are always popular amongst our Grimsdell readership – Phoebe enjoys the interactive nature of Nick Sharratt’s stories whilst Mia is drawn to the rhyming antics of Kes Gray’s characters:

Nia has reconnected with the well-established author, Oliver Jeffers, through her involvement with the Year 2 Reading Road Map:

Finally, the multi-talented Alex T Smith (of the Claude series fame) is Jacob’s choice:

Happy Reading
