Eco Week and Outdoor Learning Collaboration
Pupils from Grimsdell and Belmont, Mill Hill Prep, came together for a fantastic Eco Week and Outdoor Learning collaboration, creating a memorable day of shared learning, creativity and fun.
As part of the initiative, Year 5 pupils from Belmont took on a leadership role, walking to Grimsdell to work with and support the younger children. This cross-school collaboration provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to connect, build confidence and develop their communication skills, while fostering a strong sense of community.
The day was filled with a variety of engaging and hands-on activities designed to promote sustainability and creativity. Pupils worked together to create imaginative recycled artwork, turning everyday materials into colourful and inventive creations. They also shared poetry inspired by nature and the environment, encouraging thoughtful reflection on the world around them.
A highlight of the day was decorating biscuits, which brought plenty of excitement and smiles as pupils showcased their creativity in a different way. The mix of activities ensured there was something for everyone, allowing all pupils to contribute, collaborate and enjoy the experience.
With sunshine overhead and enthusiasm throughout, the event was a great success. It not only celebrated Eco Week and outdoor learning but also demonstrated the benefits of collaboration across the schools. Pupils returned with a deeper appreciation of environmental responsibility, as well as positive memories of working together and learning from one another.
